Habitat: Fenlands, slow-flowing rivers and streams, abandoned canals, ditches and reedy lakes. Well vegetated shores (reeds).


Distribution: Highest numbers along canals and fenlands. 

Flight season: Late April to August. Most abundant in May and June.


Status: Uncommon and stable in The Netherlands (Red list).
